Peer Review Policy

Journal of Chemical Research and Innovation (JCRI)

The Journal of Chemical Research and Innovation (JCRI) is committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly research.

1. Review Model

JCRI employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure impartial and unbiased evaluation.

2. Initial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

  • Originality and scientific quality

  • Ethical compliance

  • Plagiarism (screened using reliable plagiarism-detection software)

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected prior to external peer review.

3. External Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and significance of the research

  • Research design and methodology

  • Quality and rigor of data analysis

  • Contribution to the field

  • Clarity of presentation and organization

Possible review decisions include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

4. Revisions and Editorial Decision

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments and submit a detailed response to the reviewers’ feedback.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.

5. Confidentiality and Ethics

All manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as confidential.
JCRI adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, or other forms of unethical research conduct.

6. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest

7. Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification. Appeals are reviewed by the Editorial Board, and the decision following the appeal is final.

Article Retraction Policy

The Journal of Chemical Research and Innovation is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. Articles may be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines when serious issues affecting the reliability or ethics of the published work are identified.

Grounds for Retraction

1. Significant Scientific Errors

Retraction may occur if major errors invalidate the study’s findings, including:

  • Evidence of data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation

  • Honest errors (e.g., miscalculations, flawed methodologies, or experimental mistakes) that critically compromise the validity of the research

2. Redundant or Duplicate Publication

Articles may be retracted if they contain material previously published elsewhere without proper citation, permission, or justification, including simultaneous or sequential submissions of substantially similar content.

3. Ethical Misconduct

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Plagiarism, including misuse of confidential peer-review materials

  • Improper authorship practices, such as guest, gift, or ghost authorship, or authorship disputes that violate COPE guidelines

4. Unethical Research Practices

Retraction may occur if the research involves:

  • Absence of required ethical approvals

  • Violations of human or animal research standards

  • Manipulation or misrepresentation of data

5. Non-Compliance with Financial Obligations

If authors fail to fulfill mandatory publication fee requirements after a grace period of up to 60 days, the journal reserves the right to retract the article to ensure procedural fairness and sustainability of the open-access model.
